Andrew McDermott, a longtime co-manager of the Longleaf Partners International Fund is departing Memphis-headquartered
Southeastern Asset Management
on August 31, Morningstar's Ryan Leggio reported in the
Fund Times column last week.
McDermott, who is based out of London, has been at the fund since its launch in 1998.
Mason Hawkins and
Staley Cates will continue as co-managers.
A Southeastern spokesperson told Leggio that McDermott
will continue to assist the company with its efforts surrounding the pending merger between Japan-based insurance firms Nipponkoa and Sompo. Southeastern is a big shareholder in both insurers.
