Fidelity more than doubled its holdings in Citigroup in the fourth quarter, the
The Boston Business Journal reports. Fidelity purchased more than 100 million shares, pushing its holdings to 176 million shares worth $1.18 billion as of end-December. The value of that stake now stands around $378 million.
For its part,
Wellington Asset Management added 20 million shares in the fourth quarter, bringing its holdings to 55.4 million shares worth $370 million as of December 31, according to the report.
The Boston Business Journal also listed other Boston asset managers' Citi holdings:
Columbia Management owned 25.6 million shares worth around $168 million;
Putnam Investments held 15 million shares
worth $99 million;
Eaton Vance Corp. owned 4.2 million shares worth north of $28 million and
MFS Investment Management owned 3.7 million shares worth
about $25 million.
