Stephen Barrett, the director of marketing for the W&R and Ivy Funds, signed on to be the chief marketing officer at Eaton Vance. He is slated to start at the end of May.

Barrett told MFWire that what attracted him to Eaton Vance was the "culture that permeates everything they do" and its "terrific investment acumen." Barrett added that the fact that his family is from Boston also contributed to the decision.

In his first 100 days at Eaton Vance, Barrett said his goal is to get the know the people on his team and do a lot of listening.

A spokesman for W&R did not return calls inquiring about Barrett's replacement. A spokeswoman from Eaton Vance was not immediately available to comment.
