Mario Gabelli has had a very good year at his eponymous fund shop and he tells Reuters it's all thanks to media moguls Sam Zell and Rupert Murdoch. Gabelli tells the wire service that Murdoch's Dow Jones pick-up and Zell's Tribune company buyout helped make portfolios managed by the company give strong performances. Shares of GAMCO Investors Inc. briefly hit a record high of $73.36 on Friday, before closing at $70.50.
