Last night
OppenheimerFunds held its annual 2008 Market Outlook at Le Cirque, a swanky restaurant on Manhattan's Upper East Side.
The event brought together
Jerry Webman, OppFunds' chief economist and portfolio managers:
Art Steinmetz, head of the international fixed income team and portfolio manager;
Neil McCarthy, head of the growth equity investment team and portfolio manager;
Rajeev Bhaman, portfolio manager of the
Global Fund and
Dan Loughran, portfolio manager with the Rochester municipal Team, for a panel discussing prevailing market conditions in 2008.

The panel discussion was followed by a cocktail reception, in which the 38 reporters in attendance mingled with OppFunds portfolio managers and executives, including CEO and chairman,
John Murphy, who is also the new ICI chairman.
Murphy told the
MFWIre that his new role at the ICI is progressing well. Some issues that are on the table for his tenure involve the budding retirement income industry and better ways to get young people interested in saving for retirement.
