IXIS Funds Undergo Name Change

News summary by MFWire's editors

Natixis Global Associates has rechristened its IXIS Advisor Funds, which encompasses 23 funds, Natixis Funds. The name change, which took effect on Monday, is aimed at more closely aligning the fund family to its global parent company, Natixis Global Asset Management. In addition, five individual funds have also adopted the Natixis name. In June, Natixis Global Asset Management announced that its distribution arm, then called IXIS Global Associates, will be renamed Natixis Global Associates.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Natixis Global Associates announced today that IXIS Advisor Funds, its family of 23 funds, will be renamed Natixis Funds. The move more closely aligns the fund family to its global parent company, Natixis Global Asset Management, and is part of an overall move to the Natixis name by what were formerly IXIS-branded entities.

In June, Natixis Global Asset Management announced that its distribution arm, formerly IXIS Global Associates, would become Natixis Global Associates, which is composed of Natixis Distributors L.P. and Natixis Asset Management Advisors, L.P.

“Our organization has long been recognized for its ability to offer investment diversification not just by asset class and investment discipline but also by investment manager and philosophy,” said John T. Hailer, president and CEO of Natixis Global Associates. “At Natixis Funds, we continue to offer access to the independent thinking of our affiliated managers, now with the added strength that comes with an $835 billion global organization.”

Under the IXIS brand, the firm’s funds have earned an impressive record of success. The Barron’s/Lipper 2006 fund family survey placed IXIS #2 out of 67 fund families for one-year performance, #1 out of 62 for five-year performance, and #2 out of 50 for ten-year performance1. In addition, Financial Research Corporation (FRC) ranked the organization as the fastest growing fund complex in the U.S. in net mutual fund flows in 2006. FRC also ranked IXIS as the fastest growing fund complex in net flows for the 12-month period June 2006 – June 20072.

In a related announcement, Natixis Distributors said that five individual funds have also adopted the Natixis name. The funds’ objectives, strategies, and investment management subadvisors remain the same:

IXIS Income Diversified Portfolio -- Natixis Income Diversified Portfolio
