Fed Opens the Discount Window

After a challenging overnight in Asia, the Fed brought a ray of sunshine to the U.S. markets just after 8:00 Friday morning, when it opened the discount window by lowering the discount rate by 50 bps. The move immediately sent the markets higher based on futures trading.
