Departure: Laraine McKinnon

McKinnon, former managing director at BlackRock, has left to launch her own strategic consulting firm. The firm will be called LMC17, and its mission is to "bring increased focus and an independent perspective to building retirement readiness programs for asset managers, advisors, record keepers, and select plan sponsors."

Company: Fidelity

Appointment: Andrew Fay

Fay, a 16-year veteran at Fidelity, has been appointed head of family offices. Fay was a part of the original team who started the family office platform in 2003, and has also served as head of national sales for the last eight years. Ed Orazem, who previously led the platform, is set to retire on July 1 after serving for eight years.

Company: Putnam Investments

Appointment: Katherine Collins

Collins was appointed as head of sustainable investing at Putnam. She will be responsible for overseeing the firm's ESG investment approach and will lead Putnam's new ESG team. Previously, Collins was the founding CEO of Honeybee Capital.

Company: Raymond James Associates

Appointments: Tom Walrond, Tom Galvin

Walrond was appointed COO and senior VP of RJA. In this role, Walrond will focus on providing sales management and operational support for various teams. Galvin has been promoted to North Atlantic regional director and senior VP to fill Walrond’s former role.

Appointment: Renee Baker

Dr. Baker was appointed as chief marketing officer, a newly created role at Carillon. In this position, she will direct marketing efforts within the firm. Previously, she was employed at Aberdeen Asset Management in a senior marketing role.

Company: Broadridge Financial Solutions

Appointment: Eric Bernstein

Bernstein was appointed as president of Broadridge Investment Management Solutions. In this role, Bernstein will be in charge of advancing global business growth in investment management solutions, and more. Previously, Bernstein was employed in financial technology at eFront, where he served as chief customer success officer.

Company: Nuveen Investments

Appointments: Kate Jonas, Christine Stokes, Daniel Noschese, Matthew Kasa, Ashish Gandhi

Nuveen expanded its defined contribution investment-only business with these executives, as reported by our sister publication, 401kWire. Jonas joined the team as a leader of the consultant relations team, based in New York. Previously, Jonas was employed at BlackRock, in its Global Client Group. Stokes joined Nuveen as head of retirement practice management also in New York. Previously, she was employed at Voya Investment Management where she served as senior product manager. Noschese joined as part of the DC I-O sales team focused in the Midwest, based in Chicago. Previously, Noschese was employed at Putnam Investments as a defined contribution investment specialist. Kasa joined the team as part of the DC I-O Sales team focused in the Southwest, and is based in Newport Beach. Previously, he was employed at American Century Investments as a VP for DC I-O sales. Lastly, Gandhi will join the team in mid-May with responsibility for DC I-O institutional sales based in Boston. Previously he worked in LMCG Investments’ institutional business as director.

Appointment: Courtney Reynolds

Reynolds was appointed as vice president of communications and corporate affairs at Northwestern, effective May 8. Previously, Reynolds she served as director of communications at Exelis Inc.

Company: McNees Wallace & Nurick

Appointment: Karl H. Schneider

Schneider was appointed as a trial attorney for the firm’s litigation group in Columbus, effective May 1. Schneider specializes in white collar criminal defense of businesses and individuals and civil litigation arising in State and Federal courts. Schneider has been practicing white collar law since 1982, and since then has had many roles.

Appointments: Frances (Fran) Cashman, John Kenney, Patricia (Patty) Lattin

All three executives were appointed to Legg Mason's executive board, which will bring the total count of executive committee positions to nine, effective June 1. Cashman will join as global head of communications and engagement. Previously, she was senior managing director and co-head of U.S. sales at Legg Mason. Kenney will join as global head of affiliate strategic initiatives, a role he has held since 2015. Lattin will join as chief human resources officer, a role she has held since 2009. In addition to these appointments, Jeff Masom will be named head of U.S. sales, responsible for US sales and national accounts.
