Barron's writer Michael Kahn notes a new product called Motif Investing, which would allow people to create their baskets of actual stocks, weighted by user-defined criteria. These baskets are called "motifs." Imagine, Kahn writes, regular people building funds, like those focusing only on companies run by women, or stocks that could benefit from Washington avoiding a default.
