Tuesday, May 10, 2005 Proteges Outshine Former Master Few in the fund industry may realize that Artisan Funds has surpassed Strong Capital in fund assets under management. Artisan, for those who may not remember, was founded by two Strong veterans -- the husband and wife team of Andrew A. Ziegler and Carlene Murphy Ziegler -- just a decade ago in March of 1995. Ten years later and Artisan claims $40.5 billion in seven funds. Meanwhile, Strong Funds' $29 billion in assets are being folded into the coffers of Wells Fargo.
