Ex-Fido Fund Manager Plots New Destiny

Yet another former Fidelity fund manager is starting a hedge fund. This time it is Karen Firestone, who formerly ran Fidelity's Large Cap Stock and Destiny I funds, will be joined by another former Fidelity fund manager and an alum from Harvard's endowment fund.

The new fund will be called Aria Asset Management, reported the Boston Herald. The paper added that Firestone failed to return it phone calls or comment for its story.

The name of the new fund is fitting considering that Firestone is known as an opera and classical music buff.

She will be joined in the 1 Winthrop Square office in Boston by David Scudder, who will leave the Harvard endowment fund and Nathaniel Jeppson. The latter manager is leaving Lyceum Capital, another hedge fund made up of Fidelity veterans, to join Aria.
