Pacific Life Adds Mangers to VAs

American Funds has won placement in Pacific Life's variable annuity and variable life lines. The insurer will add the American Funds Growth and American Funds Growth-Income as well as the VN Small-Cap Value portfolio managed by Vaughan Nelson Investment Management.

The Capital Research & Management advised funds will be included in the Pacific Select Fund Master Growth Fund and the Pacific Select Fund Master Growth-Income Fund respectively.

"We are continually evaluating the premier managers in the U.S. to expand and improve our investment choices available to financial professionals and their clients," said Kathleen Hunter, vice president of marketing for the Annuities and Mutual Funds Division. "These new investment options further enhance the asset allocation capabilities in our variable products."

The insurer also added Columbia Management Advisors, Jennison Associates and Neuberger Berman Management as managers for its Pacific Select Fund.

The additions bring the number of portfolio managers on the platform up to 20, said Alyce Peterson, vice president of marketing services for the Life Insurance Division. Those managers are responsible for 43 investment options.

"This breadth of choice and depth of management experience is important to our affluent client base," she explained.
