Tuesday, April 5, 2005 Vanguard Streamlines Data Ops The number two fund family has chosen BMC Software, a Houston, Texas-based vendor, to streamline its data operations, according to a news release. The move is part of an "aggressive technology initiative" to allow the fund firm to streamline its "complex data environment into a single repository," stated BMC officials in the release. According to the release, the data was previously stored in multiple forms across multiple platforms. By consolidating its data, Vanguard was able to eliminate duplicate records, improve data quality and respond to shareholder trends. A Vanguard spokesperson did not immediately return a call seeking comment. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=9422 Copyright 2005, InvestmentWires, Inc. All Rights Reserved |
