Thursday, March 24, 2005 Columbia Hires Away Putnam Exec Columbia Management has hired former Putnam executive Stephen Peacher as chief investment officer of taxable fixed-income. Peacher will manage 75 managers, analysts and traders, according to a Columbia release. Peacher reports to Brenda Furlong, head of fixed income at Columbia. At Putnam, Peacher was a managing director and chief investment officer of credit. A Putnam spokeswoman did not immediately return a call seeking comment on a replacement for Peacher.
