DeAM's Top Dog Continues Shakeup

Kevin Parker, the head of Deutsche Asset Management, is continuing to make changes to DeAM's executive suite.

Axel Benkner, who co-headed DeAM's global retail operations with former Scudder head William N. Shiebler, will head retail for DeAM solely. Benker reports directly to Parker. Shiebler, meanwhile, was appointed vice chairman of DeAM, but it was unclear from the release whether his responsibilities would change. A DeAM spokesperson did not return a call seeking comment before deadline.

Scudder Investments, the brand familiar to most U.S. investors, also has a new head. Axel Schwarzer, currently a managing director at DWS Investments (DeAM's European mutual fund business) will move from Frankfurt to New York to take up the top spot at Scudder.
