Friday, January 28, 2005 Primecap Goes Live with Fund Website Primecap's own three-fund family has a website up and running. While the site is obviously intended for prospective fund investors, the site also gives the firm's watchers some fodder. For one, the website's Greek-motif (reminiscent of a certain "We are happy to serve you" coffee cup) provides some insight into the naming of the funds: "Much like Odysseus, the legendary warrior of Homer's epics, The Iliad and The Odyssey, investors in the PRIMECAP Odyssey Funds should be patient. They should… expect us to work relentlessly towards delivering superior long-term results," write the Primecap staff on the site. The website also names the firm's non-principal investment staff: M. Mohsin Ansari, Emido A. Checcone, John C. Wang, Eunhak Bae, Baltej S. Kochar and Carin L. Salter round out the firm's investment analyst, and Ralph V. Raulli and Thomas P. Bernard manage the firm's trades. The firm apparently hired at least two analysts in 2004: Salter, a former Fidelity analyst, joined in the summer of last year, and Kochar joined in January. All told, the firm must do a lot of recruiting at Harvard: five out of six of the analysts have M.B.A.s from Harvard. Primecap's principals include: Howard Schow, Mitchell Milias, Theo Kolokotrones, Joel Fried, Alfred Mordecai and Roderick Brower.
