Nutmeg State Bank Signs with S&P

Waterbury, Connecticut-based Webster Investment Services has chosen Standard & Poor's advisor platform, Portfolio Advisor, to offer to its representatives.

The S&P platform offers advisors the choice of pre-packaged portfolios as well as individual stocks, mutual funds and exchange-traded funds.

The availability of exchange-traded funds was an important factor in the bank's decision, commented said Thomas Howe, president of Webster Investment Services. Additionally, "we were able to build an interface from their platform through our clearing broker (Fiserv)…which made the whole thing seamless," said Howe.

The investment unit of Webster Bank has 31 full-time representatives, with a footprint that covers Connecticut, and parts of New York and Massachusetts.
