Putnam Gets Back in the Saddle with New Fund

Putnam is readying to launch the Putnam Income Opportunities Fund, a new blended fund, the firm disclosed in an SEC filing on June 25.

A Putnam spokeswoman said that the fund will be incubated, and that they have no plans to market the fund. The blended fund will invest in domestic and foreign large-cap stocks and bonds.

Putnam will offer A shares of the fund with a 5.25 percent load.

Jeffrey Knight, Robert Kea, Bruce MacDonald and Robert Schoen are slated to manage the fund.
