Three Managers Jump from Strong

A team of portfolio managers has jumped ship from Strong Capital to National City Investment Management. The trio of portfolio managers -- Chris Wiles, Larry Eakin and Mike Halloran -- had managed two mutual funds at Strong. The reason for their departure could not be immediately learned.

The move will bring the three more assets to manage. At Strong Wiles, Eakin and Halloran oversaw the Strong Large Company Growth Fund and the Strong Advisor Large Company Core Fund. Both funds held fewer than $10 million in assets, according to Morningstar. Eric F. Crigler, currently the manager of the Strong Strategic Value Fund, has taken over Large Company Core fund, and Thomas J. Pence, has taken over Large Company Growth fund.

At National City they will handle more than $3 billion in core and growth equity portfolios.

Strong has been on the block since the end of last year.
