ETFs Rake In More Than $1T In 7 Months


ETF flows continue to break records, both in the U.S. and across the world, and the space continues to get more crowded with products and fund firms alike, according to the latest data from the folks at an ETF-focused research firm.

Debbie Fuhr, managing partner at ETFGI, recently revealed that the U.S. exchange-traded fund and exchange-traded product industry brought in a record $678.14 billion in net inflows over the first seven months of 2025 (up by $98.3 billion year-over-year from the first seven months of 2024). The U.S. accounted for 62.2 percent of worldwide ETF and ETP inflows of $1.09 trillion year-to-date as of July 31, 2025 (also a new record, up by $143 billion Y/Y from the first seven months of 2024).

The U.S. ETF and ETP industry brought in $124.16 billion in net inflows in July 2025, up by $13.5 billion month-over-month from June 2025 but down by $15.26 billion Y/Y from July 2024. The U.S. accounted for 64.8 percent of the $191.55 billion in worldwide ETF and ETP inflows in July 2025 (which were up by $32.77 billion M/M but down by $25.09 billion Y/Y). July 2025 extended the U.S. ETF and ETP inflows streak to 39 months and counting, while extending the worldwide streak to 74 months.

U.S. ETFs and ETPs held a record combined $11.81 trillion in AUM on July 31, 2025, up by $270 billion M/M from the prior record on June 30, 2025 and up by $2.32 trillion Y/Y from July 31, 2024. The U.S. now accounts for 68.1 percent of worldwide ETF and ETP AUM of $17.34 trillion as of the end of July 2025. (That's also a new record, up by $350 billion M/M from the prior record and up by $3.73 trillion Y/Y.)

As of July 31, 2025, the U.S. asset management industry offered 4,428 ETFs and ETPs, up by 99 (2.3 percent) M/M and up by 787 (21.6 percent) Y/Y. The U.S. now accounts for 30.2 percent of the 14,640 ETFs and ETPs worldwide. (The global count is up by 250 M/M and up by 2,075 Y/Y.)

411 ETF and ETP providers operated in the U.S. as of July 31, 2025, up by 10 (2.5 percent) M/M and up by 77 (23.1 percent) Y/Y. U.S. ETF and ETP providers now account for 46.2 percent of the 889 ETF and ETP providers worldwide. (The worldwide count is up by 13 M/M and up by 132 Y/Y.)
