After 38 Years, a Russell C-Suiter Retires


A C-suiter is saying goodbye after more than 38 years with a $297.6-billion-AUM (as of December 31) asset manager in the Northwest.

Gig Harbor, Washington-based Erik Ristuben retired from Russell Investments [profile] on December 31, a Russell spokesperson confirms. Ristuben's last role at the Seattle-based firm was chief investment strategist.

London-based Andrew Pease, formerly global head of investment strategy, is now the firm's current chief investment strategist, a company spokesperson adds. (Pease took on the new role back in October.) The spokesperson also notes that Seattle-based Paul Eitelman serves as senior director and chief investment strategist covering North America.

Ristuben first joined Russell back in 1985, the spokesperson tells MFWire.

"As he embarks on the next chapter of his life, we extend our warmest wishes for a retirement as incredible and fulfilling as his outstanding career at Russell Investments," the spokesperson says.

Ristuben is an alumnus of Pacific Lutheran University. Before becoming chief investment strategist, Ristuben's other Russell roles included CIO of North America, CIO of multistrategy solutions, managing director of client investment strategies, and more.

Pease first joined the firm in 2006, working as chief investment strategist for Russell's Asia Pacific business before rising in 2012 to global head of investment strategy. earlier, he had stints at Macquarie Bank, J.P. Morgan, Nomura Securities, and Reserve Bank of Australia. He is an alumnus of UNSW and of the University of Tasmania.

Eitelman first joined Russell Investments in 2015. His past stints include time with J.P. Morgan and the Federal Reserve Board. He is an alumnus of the Wharton School and of the University of Delaware.
