Thursday, February 9, 2023 Joe Neuberger and a Vanguard Vet Take Over a Fund Firm The founder of a 34-year-old, midwestern, $5.8-billion-AUM (as of September 30) fund firm is shaking up his leadership team, even as he stays on board himself.
Neuberger most recently served as president of U.S. Bancorp Fund Services, part of U.S. Bank. A U.S. Bank spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Kornitzer lauds Neuberger and Symon Browne as "the right leaders for KCM and Buffalo Funds." "Their extensive financial services and leadership experience will help KCM carry on its long-term mission of helping private clients and institutions achieve their long-term financial goals," Kornitzer states. Neuberger previously spent 28 years with U.S. Bank Global Fund Services, and he took over that business back in 2017. Earlier, he worked as a tax manager at Arthur Andersen. He is an alumnus of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Symon Browne spent 24 years with Vanguard after working with Towers Watson and Boyce & Associates. She is an alumna of Tulane University. Kornitzer founded his eponymous firm in 1989, and the firm debuted its first mutual fund in 1994. Earlier, he worked at ERC, Merrill Lynch, and Butcher & Singer. He is an alumnus of St. Francisc College. Gasaway joined KCM in 1991 after nearly a decade as a PM and analyst at Waddell & Reed. He is an alumnus of Kansas State University.
