Yesterday, Craig Pfeiffer, president and CEO of the Money Management Institute (MMI), and Jack Otter, global head of wealth & asset management at Dow Jones (the publisher of Barron's), revealed the finalists contending for the 2022 MMI/Barron's Industry Awards. The finalists cover 13 award categories, and while many of the contenders are focused on wealth management or other aspects of the business, at least 11 fund firms are also among the finalists.

Clark Capital Management Group is a contender in both the "distribution excellence" and the "asset manager of the year" (for firms with between $25 billion and $100 billion in AUM) categories. Other fund firm finalists include:

-Ariel Investments, for "asset manager of the year" (for firms with less than $25 billion in AUM);

-BlackRock, for "thought leadership/education";

-Blackstone, for "asset manager of the year" (for firms with more than $100 billion in AUM);

-Domini Impact Investments, LLC, for "asset manager of the year" (for firms with less than $25 billion in AUM);

-Franklin Templeton, for "asset manager of the year" (for firms with more than $100 billion in AUM);

-Horizon Investments, for "asset manager of the year" (for firms with less than $25 billion in AUM);

-J.P. Morgan Asset Management, for "distribution excellence" involving its active ETFs;

"The annual awards celebrate some of the most remarkable accomplishments in our industry and continue to grow in popularity," Pfeiffer states. "Due the overwhelming number of submissions this year that represent truly innovative digital solutions we broadened the award categories."

The award winners will be revealed next month at the MMI Industry Celebration Dinner at the 2022 MMI Annual Conference in Nashville.
