A 7-Year Schwab Vet Joins an Alts Shop

A new marketing leader has landed at a Colorado alternatives shop following a nearly seven-year tenure at Charles Schwab.

Kelly Briden (nee Hogerty)
Ares Wealth Management Solutions
Managing Director, Head of Marketing
Last month, Kelly Briden, managing director in asset management marketing at Schwab, left the Westlake, Texas-based financial giant and joined Denver-based Ares Wealth Management Solutions as a managing director and head of marketing. Briden led efforts for both the investment management and investor advisory wings of Schwab.

A Schwab spokesperson confirms Briden's departure. Briden started with the company in 2015.

An Ares spokesperson writes to MFWire that Briden will direct strategic marketing activities for both retail and advisor clients.

In a LinkedIn post, Briden writes, "After nearly seven years with Schwab, it's bittersweet to announce that I left the company earlier [last] month. My time at Schwab has been very important to my career."

"I had the opportunity to work with some of the smartest and most dedicated people in the industry," Briden continues. "I also got to see first-hand how Schwab's focus on client needs and client-centric innovation can impact the whole industry. Thank you to my friends, mentors and colleagues for an amazing experience."

She adds, "I am happy to announce that I have joined Ares Wealth Management Solutions as Head of Marketing. I'm very excited about the opportunity to join a great team and have the chance to work for another client-centric company, focused on offering advisors and their clients innovative solutions in Alternative Investments."

Prior to joining both Ares and Schwab, Briden was a managing director in marketing for Russell Investments from 2011 to 2015. She earlier served as a marketing director for Russell between 2006 and 2010, but from 2010 to 2011, left the firm to join Morningstar as a marketing director. Earlier, Briden was a marketing manager for Janus. She is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame and the Joseph Korbel School of International Studies at the University of Denver.
