Tuesday, December 16, 2003 Lord Abbett Readies International Fund Lord Abbett & Co. is readying an international equity fund for a debut in 2004. Plans for the fund were revealed in an SEC registration statement. Lord Abbett hired away a team of five managers frp, Warburg Pincus Asset Management/Credit Suisse Asset Management who will run the portfolio for the fund. The team leader is Harold Sharon who takes the title of director of International Core Equity. Vincent McBride becomes a Lord Abbett senior portfolio manager reporting to Sharon. The firm also added Todd Jacobson, Todor Petrov and Yarek Aranowicz. All five will be based in Jersey City, New Jersey. The fund will invest in large cap stocks of international companies and will follow a blend of growth and value. The firm expects that the fund has the potential to raise assets in the billions.
