Tuesday, October 12, 2021 A New CMO Joins a $1.68T-AUM AM A $1.68-trillion-AUM (as of August 30) asset manager has brought in a new global marketing guru, and this particular hire comes into the role with more than twenty-five years of experience in the world of finance and retirement readiness. On October 25, Theresa McLaughlin, who most recently served as executive vice president and global chief marketing officer for Boston-based State Street Corporation, from February to May of 2021, will join Baltimore-based T. Rowe Price as head of global marketing. This is a new position within the company, created for Boston-based McLaughlin. A call placed to the State Street media line was not returned. McLaughlin states, "T. Rowe Price has one of the broadest distribution franchises in global asset management, and continues to invest heavily to further its progress across key markets and client segments." "As someone with a passion for the customer," she says, "I am excited to be joining the firm and leading a seasoned team of marketers focused on delivering for clients while pursuing strong, sustainable, and diversified growth." Robert Higginbotham, head of global distribution at T. Rowe, states, "Marketing is a key strategic asset for our business as we advance our efforts to globalize and diversify our client base and help our clients achieve their long-term financial goals." Prior to her work with State Street, McLaughlin was an executive vice president and global marketing chief, as well as a citizenship and customer experience officer with the TD Bank Group from 2013 to February of this year. From 1995 to 2013, she was with Citizens Financial Group in a number of different leadership positions. McLaughlin is an alumna of the Duke Fuqua School of Business, and of Harvard Business School.
