A Senior Invesco Alum Joins a $600B-AUM AM


A senior ex-Invesco executive recently joined an insurer's $600-billion multiboutique asset management arm.

Andrew Peters started with New York Life Investments [profile] last Monday, August 9, as managing director and head of the investment consulting group (ICG), a spokesperson for New York Life tells MFWire. Peters now reports to Jae Yoon, chief investment officer of New York Life Investment Management, the spokesperson confirms.

Peters most recently served as head of alternatives risk at Invesco.

As head of ICG at New York Life Investments, Peters "will be responsible for investment oversight and stewardship of the full lineup of MainStay funds and the investment strategies of New York Life Investments' boutiques," the company spokesperson writes. (MainStay is New York Life Investments' family of mutual funds.) "He ... will also support New York Life Investments' senior management and the MainStay Board of Trustees."

Peters previously served as chief risk officer of OC Private, a joint venture between the Carlyle Group and OpFunds, and he stayed on with Invesco when it bought OpFunds two years ago. Earlier, he worked with Avenue Capital Group and Chatham Financial.He is an alumnus of the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business.
