15 Years In, a Franklin Leader Shifts


After 15 years with the company, a Franklin Templeton distribution leader is shifting into a new role.

Pierre Caramazza recently became head of both U.S. product and specialty sales at San Mateo, California-based Franklin, MFWire has learned. He most recently served as head of the asset manager's financial institutions group and head of ETF distribution.

Caramazza will continue to be based in St. Petersburg, Florida and report to Jeff Mason, head of U.S. distribution for Franklin Templeton, a spokesperson for Franklin Templeton tells MFWire.

"Pierre will be focused on the creation and execution of product strategy and development for the U.S. region, and the distribution of specialty vehicles and products in partnership with generalist sales channels," the company spokesperson continues.

A Hobart and William Smith Colleges graduate, Caramazza has served at Franklin Templeton for more than 15 years in a variety of capacities, including: head of U.S. product specialty sales; head of financial institutions group, head of ETF distribution; head of private wealth division, head of ETF distribution; head of RIA division; and senior vice president, director of fixed income and multi-asset strategies product management and regional product strategy. Prior, he served at Putnam Investments for nearly nine years as senior vice president, product manager.
