A PNC Vet Takes Over ESG For a Multiboutique

Last month Victory Capital CEO David Brown confirmed the hiring of a new responsible investing executive. David Alt has joined the company as the director of responsible investing, a newly created role at the publicly traded, multiboutique asset manager.

David Alt
Victory Capital Holdings, Inc.
Director of Responsible INvesting
Alt will report to Kelly Cliff, Victory's president of investment franchises, and will be based in Cleveland, Ohio (where Victory used to be headquartered and still has a big presence).

Alt will also act as the chair of Victory's proxy voting committee which will coordinate with portfolio companies regarding ESG issues, he will be a part of their Diversity, Inclusion, Cohesion, and Engagement Committee, and he will lead Victory's corporate social responsibility (CSR) strategies.

Brown stated, "Dave brings a wealth of experience in responsible investing and ESG stewardship to Victory Capital ... Responsible investing and ESG-risk mitigation have always been essential components of active management due diligence and managing these factors in an organized framework is critical for long-term success."

Alt last worked as head of responsible investing for PNC in 2019; the bank saw part of its asset management arm purchased by Federated Investors in May of the same year. Before that, he worked at FirstMerit, CFA Society of Cleveland, National City Bank, and KeyCorp. Alt is a graduate of Kent State University.
