Wednesday, October 29, 2003 Chuck Schwab Likes TD Waterhouse Charles Schwab has an eye on TD Waterhouse. The chairman of Charles Schwab Corp. revealed his potential interest in the discount broker during an interview with Reuters at an event in New York City on Wednesday. "We would be happy to be a consolidator if the opportunity came up," Chuck Schwab told the news service. "We would be very interested in purchasing TD Waterhouse if it were to become available, but we have nothing to announce about that now." Toronto Dominion Bank has been shopping the TD Waterhouse for a number of months. Canadian papers have named Ameritrade as one of the leading contenders to buy the U.S. brokerage arm.
