Today Repetto, chief investment officer of American Century's Avantis Investors arm, confirms that Sunil Wahal has signed on with Avantis as academic consultant. Wahal serves is a professor and director of the Center for Investment Engineering at the W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University (ASU).

Wahal also serves on the investment committee of Wipfli Financial, and he previously spent 14 years (ending last year) as a consultant to none other than Dimensional Fund Advisors, the fund firm where Repetto served as co-CEO before leaving in 2017. Repetto lauds Wahal as "well-respected by both academics and practitioners." Wahal, for his part, states that he is "very interested in applying state-of-the-art technology and financial science for the benefit of end investors."

Before joining ASU, Wahal worked at Emory University's Goizueta Business School, Purdue University's Krannert Graduate School of Management, and Asiabanking Magazine. He is an alumnus of UNC Chapel Hill, Wake Forest University, and the University of Delhi.
