This sports-ownership speculation comes after two Legg Mason alumni were tied in earlier this month to speculation about who might buy a certain baseball team. "Johnson has both the experience and financial assets to purchase pretty much any sports team the world over," Sportsnaut writes. "She's a prime candidate to do just that if the trendsetter so desires." Yet Sportsnaut, a five-year-old site self-described as "a haven for creativity and style," offers no evidence that Johnson has any plans to, or interest in, acquiring a sports team. If Johnson did get such an itch, perhaps she would look to her hometown of Boston, which has the NBA's Celtics and the nearby NFL's Patriots? Johnson knows Bob Kraft, the owner of the Patriots; Fidelity sponsored the Patriots for a decade and ran the 401(k) for Kraft's company, yet both relationships ended years ago.
