Weil Hires an Insti Vet to Lead All Distro

Dick Weil is hiring a veteran of the institutional channel to take over all of distribution, for both institutional and retail.

Weil confirms that Suzanne Cain will join London-based Janus Henderson Investors [profile] on May 20 as global head of distribution. She will be based in Denver and sit on Janus Henderson's executive committee, while she oversees a distribution team of more than 600 people worldwide.

Cain most recently served as U.S. and global head of institutional clients, iShares at BlackRock. A BlackRock spokesperson did not immediately return a call for comment.

At Janus Henderson, Cain succeeds two interim co-heads of global distribution, Drew Elder and Greg Jones. Prior to them, Phil Wagstaff served as global head of distribution.

"She brings deep global leadership experience, an ability to operate strategically and an excellent track record of success in product innovation, building product capabilities and leading global sales initiatives," states Weil, CEO of Janus Henderson. "I am confident in Suzanne's ability as a transformative leader to continue to drive forward our new growth priorities and global distribution efforts."

Prior to joining BlackRock, Cain worked at Deutsche Bank, twice, and with Morgan Stanley.
