Two Familiar Billionaires Buy New Homes

Two mutual fund industry billionaires recently bought new homes, on opposite sides of the country.

On June 21 Janus PM Bill Gross bought a new bachelor pad in Laguna Beach, California, the Orange County Register reports. Meanwhile, on Singer Island Riviera Beach in south Florida, Morningstar executive chairman Joe Mansueto is one of the buyers of the condos in the VistaBlue condo development, the Palm Beach Post reports.

Gross paid $35.82 million million for his new, four-bedroom, 5,500-square-foot, 42-year-old, oceanfront Spanish hacienda-style home, the Register reports, which "appears to be the third-highest price ever paid for a single home in Orange County." The paper notes that the home last sold for $23 million just three years ago, and that it was on the market earlier in 2018 for $34.999 million. The pub offers 15 pics of the house and a brief description.

As for Mansueto, his is the second-priciest VistaBlue condo sold so far, the Post reports, at a price of $3.9 million. The pub offers a pick of the development's pool deck and other info on VistaBlue, but little else on the particulars of the condo purchased by Mansueto and his wife.
