Week In Preview, May 7-13

Happy mother's day!

The Investments & Wealth Institute's 2018 Annual Conference Experience (ACE) continues today. The four-day event at Nashville's Music City Center started yesterday and is expected to attract 1,500 attendees and 100 exhibitors and sponsors. Speakers scheduled to appear include: behavioral economist Dan Ariely, professor at Duke University; Zvi Bodie, professor emeritus at Boston University; business strategist Robert Cooper, CEO of both Cooper Neuroscience Lab and Cooper Strategic; economist Pippa Malmgren, co-founder and president of both Canonbury Group and Principalis; investor Vikram Mansharamani, lecturer at Harvard University; Chuck Nanick, vice president and managing director on the national sales team for Natixis; Denise St. Ivany, eastern division manager for Macquarie Investment Management's Delaware Funds; Ryan Tiernan, national accounts manager at Capital Group's American Funds; Alexander Wagner, professor at the University of Zurich; and many others.

Tomorrow the Mutual Fund Distribution Forum (MFDF) team will team up with the University of Maryland's Smith School of Business to host a program called "The Road Ahead — Disruption and Innovation in Fund Industry." The event will be held at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C.

On Wednesday folks at Franklin Templeton are hosting a New York City press lunch, titled "Investing in an Uncertain World: Mid-Year Outlook." The event, which will be held at STK Midtown, will feature a panel discussion with: Sonal Desai, PM and director of research for Templeton Global Macro; Peter Langerman, PM, chairman, president, and CEO of Franklin Mutual Series; and David Zahn, PM and head of European fixed income for Franklin Templeton's fixed income group. Wylie Tollette, head of client investment solutions for Franklin Multi-Asset Solutions, will moderate the panel.

This week on the retirement side of the industry, the team at the Employee Benefit Research Institute (EBRI) is hosting an event. Our sister publication, 401kWire has more details.

Happy mother's day!

Editor's Note: A prior of this story incorrectly described Wylie Tollette's role at Franklin Templeton. Tollette is head of client investment solutions for Franklin Multi-Asset Solutions.
