Wednesday, January 10, 2018 A Long-time GE and Ex-BlackRock CMO Joins NYLIM Yie-Hsin Hung, CEO of New York Life Investment Management, is bringing in Ian Forrest as the global chief marketing officer of NYLIM and MainStay Investments.
In his new role, Forrest will report to Kirk Lehneis, chief operating officer of NYLIM. MFWire reported back in September that Lehneis was succeeding Steve Fisher as the head of NYLIM's mutual fund business. "As NYLIM has grown from a U.S.-focused organization to a $316 billion global asset manager, we’ve been evolving the core functions of our business to meet the growing needs of our clients," Hung states. "Ian’s track record and global asset management experience make him well positioned to help us enhance NYLIM’s marketing organization and accelerate our growth." Forrest previously spearheaded BlackRock's marketing team in the EMEA region where he revamped BlackRock’s digital presence, including its social media and web properties. He also held several roles in General Electrics including chief marketing officer at GE Capital, GE software and GE appliances.
