Tuesday, July 11, 2017 Szilagyi Hires Two and Makes an Alliance The CEO of Catalyst Funds, [profile] Jerry Szilagyi, confirms the addition of Lawrence (Larry) Lai as chief risk officer and Michael Schoonover as chief operating officer as the firm expands its risk management team. Szilagyi also appointed RCM Risk Advisors LLC to assist in developing and analyzing risk parameters for the 25 mutual funds Catalyst offers. This consultation adds three additional members to the firms risk management team, including: Ed Sweeney, a partner at RCM; Matthew Racine, director at RCM; and Jakob Bax, risk analyst at RCM. Since June of 2014, Catalyst has grown from $1 billion to $6 billion in assets under management, Szilagyi tells MFWire. "This has been an ongoing process... We're building our infrastructure across the board," says Szilagyi. "We will continue to expand as the growth of our company continues." "I am thrilled to join Catalyst in this role," states Lai. "I believe the company is firmly committed to risk management, and I am excited to collaborate with current leadership at this fast-growing firm."
