As a Top Nuveen Vet Retires, Another Expands Her Role

A top Nuveen Investments executive is retiring today, an SEC filing confirms.

Bill Adams, co-president of global products and solutions at Nuveen, is leaving his position at the firm and on the board of directors of Nuveen Funds. Margo Cook, who was the other co-president of global products and solutions, will take over his responsibilities under her new role as president, Nuveen advisory services. Robert Young, former president at J.P. Morgan Funds, is taking Adams' spot on the board of directors of Nuveen Funds.

“For more than 35 years at Nuveen, Bill Adams was dedicated to serving investors and helping them meet their investment goals. Bill played an invaluable role in building Nuveen’s closed-end fund franchise into the market leader. It is with deep gratitude that we wish him all the best in his retirement,” a Nuveen spokesperson writes to MFWire.

Adams has been with Nuveen for his entire career in the mutual fund industry. Adams became co-president in January 2016, and before that he was senior executive vice president of global structured products.

Before becoming co-president (also in January 2016), Cook was senior executive vice president of strategy and multi asset class solutions. She joined Nuveen in 2008 after working at Bear Sterns and BNY Mellon.

Young left J.P. Morgan earlier this year. He started at J.P. Morgan Distribution Services in 2000 and joined the firm’s institutional investments business in 2011.
