Truscott Shifts Columbia's RIA Distro

Ted Truscott is moving two key channels at Columbia Threadneedle [profile], and a 30-year company veteran is preparing to move on.

Ted Truscott
Ameriprise Financial
CEO, Global Asset Management
Marc Zeitoun, head of strategic beta at the Boston-based asset manager and Ameriprise subsidiary, now oversees "private client advisory" (PCA), too, MFWire has learned. PCA includes both the RIA and private bank channels. Zeitoun reports directly to Truscott, CEO of Columbia.

Joe Feloney, who had served as senior vice president and national sales manager for PCA, DC I-O, and subadvised business at Columbia, is leaving the firm next month, company spokesman Carlos Melville confirms. Melville declined to comment on how Feloney's duties are being handled or on the PCA shift.

Feloney did not return calls for comment on his upcoming departure.

Our sister publication, 401kWire, reports that Columbia intermediary distribution chief Joe Kringdon is now on the hunt for a new DC I-O chief.

The PCA shift and Feloney's upcoming departure follow Columbia's purchase last year of New York City-based ETF shop Emerging Global Advisors. That deal closed at the end of the summer. Zeitoun previously served as chief product and marketing officer at EGA.

Zeitoun is an alumnus of both Vassar and Columbia. He worked at J.P. Morgan, UBS, and Guggenheim before joining EGA in 2013.

Feloney is an alumnus of both Northeastern and Bentley. He has worked at Columbia for more than 30 years in a variety of roles.
