Monday, August 22, 2016 Gundlach Mourns a Trusted Colleague of 25 Years One of the top executives at DoubleLine Capital [profile] died over the weekend after being hit by a car.
"For a quarter century Bonnie was my trusted colleague and dear friend," Jeffrey Gundlach, chief of DoubleLine, tells the wire services in an emailed statement. "She was honest and direct, with a sardonic wit perfectly matching her investment skepticism helping shape the DoubleLine philosophy." Madeline Curott, public information officer at the Albemarle County Police Department in Virginia, tells MFWire that no charges have been filed at this time. She offers her sympathy on the passing of Baha on her Twitter page along with a copy of a letter from the police department. The letter states the fatal crash occurred just before 1 p.m. on Sunday "in the area of the Stonefield shopping center." The letter goes on to indicate that Baha, who is from San Marino, California, "died from her injuries at the UVa Medical Center." Baha and her family were there to drop off her son, an underclassman at the University of Virginia. This is the county's first fatality this year involving a pedestrian, Curott tells MFWire.
