Tuesday, July 5, 2016 A Key Channel Chief Leaves GMO The chief of a key channel is leaving Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo (GMO [profile]). MFWire's sister publication, 401kWire, broke the news that defined contribution investment-only (DC I-O) chief Jim Sia has left the Boston-based value asset manager. MFWire could not reach Sia himself or John Morey, partner and head of North America client relationship management for GMO, for comment for this story. A spokesman for GMO declined to comment. Sia's departure comes as GMO is reportedly cutting about 10 percent its 650-person workforce. The value shop has suffered a 20-percent AUM drop over the past two years. Sia is an alumnus of Babson and of Boston University. He worked at Wellington, Schwab, CS First Boston, and Fidelity before joining GMO in 2011.
