Inside Mansueto's 'Morningstar Mansion'

Ever wonder where a mutual fund industry billionaire calls home? Architectural Record offers one answer.

Joe Mansueto
Morningstar
Chief Executive Officer
Curbed's Chicago edition recently outed the "urban oasis" in Lincoln Park, profiled by the architectural magazine, as the dream house that Morningstar founder and CEO Joe Mansueto and his wife Rika hired Tigerman McCurry Architects to design. Architectural Record labels the "client", size, and cost of the house as "withheld," but Curbed says "it's a hardly a secret" that the house was built for the Mansueto family.

"For years Lincoln Parkers have been casually referring to the project as 'Morningstar Mansion'," Curbed writes.

The AR piece digs in to the business and zoning story behind the creation of "low-slung glass-and-metal building" with a "216-foot-wide lot" that combined eight individual lots.

The AR article also includes multiple glimpses inside the building and its design, featuring eight photos and five architectural drawings. This is how you live if you created a mutual fund ratings giant.
