Voya's Chakarun Casts a Lacrosse Veteran in a Fund Sales Role


Troy Chakarun just brought a wholesaler on board at Voya Investment Management [profile] to cover the RIA channel in the west.

Chakarun confirms that Terry Riordan has joined the Voya asset management arm as vice president and senior regional director in the western region, covering the ultra high net worh, RIA, multi-family office, family office, private bank, bank trust, regional TAMP, and institutional consultant markets. Based in Southern California, Riordan reports to Chakarun, senior vice president and national sales manager for private wealth and advisory at Voya Investment Management.

Riordan most recently served as a regional sales director for Highland Capital Management [profile], covering Hawaii and SoCal. MFWire could not immediately reach Highland Capital Funds Distributor president Brad Ross for comment on how Riordan's duties are being handled.

At Voya, Riordan will team up senior regional coordinator Robert Van Allen.

An alumnus of Johns Hopkins, Riordan worked at American Funds and Destra Capital before joining Highland at the end of 2012. Riordan is also a TV actor (his credits include the shows As the World Turns, the Guiding Light, and Rescue Me), and he was a professional lacrosse player for the Long Island Lizards and the Los Angeles Riptide.
