Hodge Picks a Successor For Pimco's Retiring Product Chief

A top Pimco [profile] executive, who is also on the management committee, is about to retire. And a successor has been named.

Bloomberg, the Orange County Business Journal, and Reuters all report that Wendy Cupps, managing director and head of product management at Pimco, will retire at the end of 2015. Cupps, 53, will be succeeded by alternatives product development chief Jennifer Bridwell, 48.

As for Cupps' seat on the Newport Beach, California-based Allianz subsidiary's executive committee, that will be filled later this year.

"I'm retiring from Pimco and the industry, but I'm going to have to do something -- something different," Cupps reportedly told Bloomberg. "I've been giving it my all and will continue to do so until the end of the year and then I'll think about all the rest later."

Cupps spent a decade at Mercer before joining Pimco in 1994. Gross named her in his big anti-Pimco lawsuit last month, calling her part of the anti-Gross cabal.
