Aston Is About to Liquidate a Large Cap Fund


By the end of the month, the folks at Aston Asset Management [profile] plan to shut down one of their large cap mutual funds.

Aston revealed in a recent filing that the ASTON/TAMRO Diversified Equity Fund is slated to be liquidated on October 29. The three-star mutual fund has $16.8 million in AUM and is subadvised by TAMRO Capital Partners.

A spokesman for Aston declined to comment beyond the filing.

TAMRO co-founder Philip Tasho has PMed the fund since inception 15 years ago, and Timothy Holland was added as a PM five years ago.

TAMRO also subadvises two other Aston funds: the $1.7-million ASTON/TAMRO International Small Cap Fund and the two-star, silver-rated, $544.6-million ASTON/TAMRO Small Cap Fund.
