A Mutual Fund Reporter Now Walks a Different Beat

A veteran reporter covering the mutual fund industry is changing beats, and her new beat doesn't include fundsters.

MFWire has learned that Jessica Toonkel has become the U.S. media reporter for Reuters, covering advertising and media. She most recently covered mutual funds and trends in investing as a correspondent with Retuters

MFWire could not immediately reach Toonkel for comment on the shift.

An alumnus of Vassar, Toonkel worked with American Lawyer, American Banker, Institutional Investor, and Crain's Workforce Management magazine and InvestmentNews. She joined the wire service four years ago to cover mutual funds and more, shifted into covering financial services and healthcare at the end of 2012, then shifted back to mutual funds and investing last fall.
