Mine Your Shareholder Data

Interested in mining your data? Bisys Distribution Solutions is offering its clients help in identifying what it calls "at-risk" shareholders and intermediaries with a new service. The fund back-office specialist teamed is teaming with @Risk, Inc. to create the service.

Bisys also believes that the tools will be able to help fund firms better identify high-value clients and create cross-selling strategies.

"We believe @Risks's sophisticated data mining technology and tools will allow our clients to proactively contact 'at-risk' shareholders who may be considering other alternatives, or those simply needing information, counseling, or reassurance," explained James L. Fox, president of Bisys Fund Services. "It also will help our clients identify 'at risk' intermediaries who may be considering reducing their purchases or redeeming investor assets."

The @Risk predictive modeling and data mining solution uses neural network technology to build statistical models for each investment client's shareholder database or for the financial intermediaries that sell their funds, according to Bisys. The firm adds that financial intermediaries can also use the system to predict declining purchases and/or increasing redemptions.
