Thursday, April 30, 2015 Mandinach Brings a Fellow UBS Vet Back to Virtus Barry Mandinanch just brought a fellow UBS veteran to Virtus [profile] for a key distribution post. Yesterday Mandinach confirmed the appointment of Tom Franco as managing director and divisional sales manager, leading Virtus' wirehouse channel wholesalers in the West. New York City-based Franco most recently served as managing director and head of national sales in the Americas at UBS Global Asset Management [profile]. Franco and Mandinach have worked alongside each other multiple times over the years. They crossed paths at Zweig Funds, UBS GAM, and UBS GAM's PACE Select Funds. And they both worked at Virtus' predecessor organization, Phoenix Investment Partners, from 1999 to 2001. Mandinach eventually rose to president of UBS GAM in the U.S., before departing in 2013. Last year he joined Virtus as executive vice president and head of distribution. Franco now reports to Mandinach, while John McCormack continues to lead Virtus' Eastern wirehouse channel wholesalers.
