Wednesday, March 11, 2015 Hochstetler Names a New Praxis Funds Prez Ken Hochstetler, president and CEO of Everence Capital Management [profile], just named a new president for Everence's Praxis Mutual Funds. Hochstetler confirms that Chad Horning, Everence's chief investment officer, is taking over as president of the Goshen, Indiana-based shop's funds. Horning will also serve as senior vice president of Everence, and co-PMs the Praxis Value Index Fund, the Praxis Growth Index Fund, and the Praxis Genesis Portfolios. David Gautsche, who had served as president of the funds, is departing to take over Pennsylvania-based Goodville Mutual Casualty Company as president and CEO. Gautsche had also served as senior vice president of products and services at Everence. "During his tenure, David led Praxis Mutual Funds through the recent recession, and helped the fund family weather the storm," Hochstetler states. "We wish him well as he makes this transition, and thank him for his years of service with Everence and Praxis Mutual Funds." An alumnus of Goshen College and the University of Maryland, Horning previously worked as an economic analyst at DevTech Systems. He's been at Everence since 1999, when he joined as an equity analyst. Gautsche, too, is an alumnus of Goshen College. He also went to Indiana University South Bend. He joined Everence in 1999, like Horning, though Gautsche started as a regional vice president. He rose to president of the funds in 2009. Everence describes itself as "a ministry of Mennonite Church USA and other churches." It offers banking and insurance services, too.
