Wednesday, January 7, 2015 Pioneer Keeps Hiring After Jones Fills Two Key Posts The Pioneer Investments [profile] team in the U.S. is still hiring, even as their new chief fills two key roles. Lisa Jones, who took over as CEO of the Italian multinational asset manager's U.S. arm last summer, confirms that Erik Gosule and Mark Spina just joined the U.S. management committee. Gosule joined Pioneer on December 15 as senior vice president and head of marketing and product development in the U.S., and Spina joined this Monday as executive vice president and head of U.S. intermediary distribution. More hiring is coming within Gosule's and Spina's teams, Jones tells MFWire. All told, Jones says, she expects to hire 12 to 15 more people across client portfolio management, distribution, and product management roles. "Now that Mark and Erik are on board, they will assume the completion of the searches for those open positions," Jones says. Gosule succeeds Gabe Altbach, who was promoted to head of global strategy and relocated to London around the time Jones joined last year. And Spina succeeds Joseph Kringdon, who jumped to Columbia over the summer. "I came on board with those two senior positions to replace," Jones says. "I specifically looked for individuals with backgrounds such as what both Mark and Erik have ... a broad-based background. Both spent a considerable amount of time in client-facing roles. They're industry veterans working for great firms who are knowledgeable on both the institutional and intermediary sides of the business." Gosule most recently served as head of client and product solutions at PanAgora Asset Management. He previously worked at D.E. Shaw, Putnam and Fidelity, and is an alumnus of Western New England College. Spina most recently served as head of intermediary distribution at Voya Investment Management. He previously worked with Alliance Capital, and is an alumnus of Bucknell University and Fordham University. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=50550 Copyright 2015, InvestmentWires, Inc.
